What to tell us when you get in touch
The more you can tell us on the form, the better prepared we are when we get to your property.
Anything you know helps, and not knowing is fine too. Roughly how old the system is, and whether you have ever had a pump-out, tells us most of what we need.
If you can, say whether you know where the septic tank is, and whether there is a riser or just a buried tank lid. Tell us whether the system has an effluent pump, a float switch or an alarm, and whether the alarm has ever sounded. Say whether there is an effluent filter, and when it was last cleaned.
Then describe what is actually happening. Slow drains, a smell, soft ground or ponding over the dispersal field all point at different things. If you hold a maintenance plan or an as-built diagram, that is the single most useful thing you can send us.
